We're pleased to welcome Janice Erikson, a former staff member, back to The Trust Company. As a Record Keeper in our Employee Benefits Operations area, Janice will be responsible for doing allocations, contribution calculations, discrimination testing, and other compliance functions.

Janice has worked in all areas of retirement plan administration in the Knoxville area since 1987. She enjoys the challenge of a good "puzzle" and the mix that record keeping and compliance provide.

In addition to her Certified Employee Benefit Specialist and Qualified 401(k)

Administrator designations, Janice has a Graduate Gemology diploma. She enjoys gemstone identification and collecting mineral specimens, both in the field and at shows and symposiums. Additionally, Janice has recently taken up three dimensional beadweaving. She says that her membership in the Smoky Mountain Astronomical Society helps keep everything in the "big picture perspective".

We were fortunate to hire Operations Officer and Director of Human Resources Lara Fleming after her long tenure at Goody's Family Clothing, where she was Director of Compensation and Benefits. A Certified Compensation Professional, Lara is President of the Tennessee Valley Employee Benefits Council and 2010 President-Elect of the East Tennessee Compensation and Benefits Association. She is also a long- time supporter of the United Way.

Lara and her husband Ken live in the Powell community. Their eight year-old son Noah is involved in youth basketball and baseball (Ken is a coach), and the family loves to go camping in their free time.

Jill Livingston joined us to do Personal Trust administration and provide support to our Tax and Estate departments. Jill has worked previously as a Client Support Specialist and Client Services Manager in the SunTrust and CapitalMark trust departments. She has over 10 years experience in trust and estate administration.

An east Tennessee native, Jill grew up in Clinton. She and her husband Jeffrey live in the Gibbs community and attend Smithwood Baptist Church. Their six year-old daughter, Madison is a Girl Scout Daisy and a very active little girl, which keeps them very busy.

Amy Morton is also a former employee of The Trust Company; Amy was first hired in 1987 when she was one of five employees. Over the next ten years, Amy went from covering the front desk to become a Trust Officer handling accounts, conducting employee meetings and doing special projects.

Born in South Carolina, Amy grew up in Northern California and moved to Knoxville during high school. She attended Clemson University and graduated from the University of Tennessee in 1987. Amy and her husband, Drew, married in 1988.

Amy left The Trust Company in 1997 to be a stay-at-home mom to son Andrew (19) and later Tyler (11) and Ethan (8). Over the past twelve years she has been very involved in the Bearden Elementary PTSO and fundraising events.

When she's not working, Amy can be found at her sons' sporting events or reading -she helped start a book club in 1997 that is still going strong. She also loves to travel to the mountains (Caesar's Head, SC) or to the beach (Litchfield, SC) with her family.
