A Week of Surprises

If you were asked how the Dow performed for the week of 8/5/11, what would have been your answer?
Hint: The Dow suffered its 6th and 9th worst point declines in its history. The answer is obvious or is it?
But there is always a "but." It also contained the Dow's 10th and 11th best point increases in its history.
For the week, the Dow only closed down <1.53%>. It sure felt a whole lot worse than that because people feel the pain of loss twice as much as they derive pleasure from an equal gain.
What a week it was!
